Year of the Snake
Snake: wise · private · strategic
Basics
The Snake is the 6th sign of the cycle, a yang fire branch in Korean Saju.
Traditional luck for the Snake: numbers 2 and 7, colours red and orange, direction south.
Recent Snake years: 1965, 1977, 1989, 2001, 2013, 2025. In Saju the year changes at Ipchun (around 4 February), so a January birthday in a Snake calendar year can still belong to the animal before the Snake.
Personality
People born in a Snake year are often described as wise, private and strategic.
The Snake's growth area is letting the strategic streak rest when it doesn't serve them.
2026 Outlook
2026 is a fire horse year; for the Snake, the Horse is neutral for the Snake, so results follow effort.
2027 is a fire goat year; for the Snake, the Goat is neutral for the Snake, so results follow effort.
Compatibility
The Snake pairs most easily with the Monkey, Rooster and Rabbit, and has to work harder with the Dog and Pig.
Your animal is only one pillar
Your Snake sign is just the year pillar; Korean Saju adds the month, day and hour, which is why two Snake people can read very differently.
