Year of the Horse
Horse: free-spirited · energetic · sociable
Basics
The Horse is the 7th sign of the cycle, a yin fire branch in Korean Saju.
Traditional luck for the Horse: numbers 2 and 7, colours red and orange, direction south.
Recent Horse years: 1966, 1978, 1990, 2002, 2014, 2026. In Saju the year changes at Ipchun (around 4 February), so a January birthday in a Horse calendar year can still belong to the animal before the Horse.
Personality
People born in a Horse year are often described as free-spirited, energetic and sociable.
The Horse's growth area is letting the sociable streak rest when it doesn't serve them.
2026 Outlook
2026 is a fire horse year; for the Horse, it is your own year, which in Korean tradition calls for steadiness rather than big gambles.
2027 is a fire goat year; for the Horse, the Goat is a natural ally of the Horse, so doors open through people.
Compatibility
The Horse pairs most easily with the Goat, Tiger and Dog, and has to work harder with the Ox and Rat.
Your animal is only one pillar
Your Horse sign is just the year pillar; Korean Saju adds the month, day and hour, which is why two Horse people can read very differently.
