Year of the Goat
Goat: creative · kind · sensitive
Basics
The Goat is the 8th sign of the cycle, a yin earth branch in Korean Saju.
Traditional luck for the Goat: numbers 5 and 10, colours yellow and brown, direction centre.
Recent Goat years: 1967, 1979, 1991, 2003, 2015, 2027. In Saju the year changes at Ipchun (around 4 February), so a January birthday in a Goat calendar year can still belong to the animal before the Goat.
Personality
People born in a Goat year are often described as creative, kind and sensitive.
The Goat's growth area is letting the sensitive streak rest when it doesn't serve them.
2026 Outlook
2026 is a fire horse year; for the Goat, the Horse is a natural ally of the Goat, so doors open through people.
2027 is a fire goat year; for the Goat, it is your own year, which in Korean tradition calls for steadiness rather than big gambles.
Compatibility
The Goat pairs most easily with the Horse, Rabbit and Monkey, and has to work harder with the Rat and Ox.
Your animal is only one pillar
Your Goat sign is just the year pillar; Korean Saju adds the month, day and hour, which is why two Goat people can read very differently.
