Year of the Dragon
Dragon: ambitious · charismatic · visionary
Basics
The Dragon is the 5th sign of the cycle, a yang earth branch in Korean Saju.
Traditional luck for the Dragon: numbers 5 and 10, colours yellow and brown, direction centre.
Recent Dragon years: 1964, 1976, 1988, 2000, 2012, 2024. In Saju the year changes at Ipchun (around 4 February), so a January birthday in a Dragon calendar year can still belong to the animal before the Dragon.
Personality
People born in a Dragon year are often described as ambitious, charismatic and visionary.
The Dragon's growth area is letting the visionary streak rest when it doesn't serve them.
2026 Outlook
2026 is a fire horse year; for the Dragon, the Horse is neutral for the Dragon, so results follow effort.
2027 is a fire goat year; for the Dragon, the Goat is neutral for the Dragon, so results follow effort.
Compatibility
The Dragon pairs most easily with the Rooster, Rat and Monkey, and has to work harder with the Pig and Dog.
Your animal is only one pillar
Your Dragon sign is just the year pillar; Korean Saju adds the month, day and hour, which is why two Dragon people can read very differently.
