Powerhouse Pillar
Powerhouse Pillar is one of the symbolic stars a chart can carry, and like every star it is flavour rather than a verdict.
What it is
Named after the head and the handle of the Big Dipper: concentrated force and a fast mind.
What the old texts say
Brilliance, command and extreme decisiveness. The classical list of pillars is not the list used in Korea, and whether another pillar belongs on it is still argued. The old line that a woman with this star quarrels with her husband belongs to its century, not to this reading.
Korean practice does not agree on how Powerhouse Pillar is counted, so two readers can honestly disagree about whether you carry it at all.
How we read it now
Charisma, independence and speed of judgement: a tendency, not a verdict about anyone.
In love
Leads, and has standards that are visible from the start. It works best on equal footing, where nobody is being managed.
At work
Roles with weight on them: running something, owning a call, standing on a big stage.
