Year of the Tiger
Tiger: bold · protective · restless
Basics
The Tiger is the 3rd sign of the cycle, a yang wood branch in Korean Saju.
Traditional luck for the Tiger: numbers 3 and 8, colours green and teal, direction east.
Recent Tiger years: 1962, 1974, 1986, 1998, 2010, 2022. In Saju the year changes at Ipchun (around 4 February), so a January birthday in a Tiger calendar year can still belong to the animal before the Tiger.
Personality
People born in a Tiger year are often described as bold, protective and restless.
The Tiger's growth area is letting the restless streak rest when it doesn't serve them.
2026 Outlook
2026 is a fire horse year; for the Tiger, the Horse belongs to the same harmony group, so teamwork pays off.
2027 is a fire goat year; for the Tiger, the Goat is neutral for the Tiger, so results follow effort.
Compatibility
The Tiger pairs most easily with the Pig, Horse and Rabbit, and has to work harder with the Rooster and Monkey.
Your animal is only one pillar
Your Tiger sign is just the year pillar; Korean Saju adds the month, day and hour, which is why two Tiger people can read very differently.
