The shining canopy: the storehouse where a group of elements is gathered and kept.
What the old texts say
Study, art, religion and time spent alone. Older books went as far as calling it the chart of a monk, which is recorded here as a tendency of the tradition and not as a verdict on a life. The basis, year branch or day branch, is disputed, and the shortcut version is not the orthodox method.
Korean practice does not agree on how Artist's Canopy is counted, so two readers can honestly disagree about whether you carry it at all.
